How much did it cost? Living room renovation

Wednesday, 23 December 2020

Hello my lovelies! I hope everyone is having a great week or weekend! Todays Post is going to be some photos of our new living room and also a break down of the costs! I hope this helps some people out of are renovation themselves or just people who want to know how much we spent. We found the living room really easy to do and didn't really have many problems. The only downside we had was getting the chip wood wall paper off the walls this look us a total of 8 hours even with a wall paper steamer! I would not! Recommend doing it without one! That was the worst. The fire place came off pretty easy with tools we had to buy I will do another post on that soon.

So this is the the costs of everything. We didn't Include things like the electric or the radiator as this will get budgeted into the hole house spend that I will do later on. We did pretty well I think and we was very lucky with the flooring as we had it before in our old place we knew it was good and lasts a long time so that's why we went for it again. We had a bit of difficulty with the skirting broad and we won't be redo any of the skirting in the rest of the house! We found it a little pointless redoing it however it does mean we didn't need to do Beading so I guess it has its pros and cons.

The price of camping can we super duper cheap from as little as £6 for a pitch pre night. we used the site pitchup.com to find us the best deals. Now we went for the basic pitch you can get but you can upgrade to eclectic if needs. All the places we stayed in included shower and loos at no extra costs but some places do charge more.  Now £6 for a nights stay is pretty good if you ask me. The most we spent for a night was around £20 and this was in a beautiful castle area with loads of land and it was just perfect.

This kind of speaks for itself really, but you really can just go anywhere you want, when you stay in a area like centre parcs for example you just stay in that one area (which is good don’t get me wrong I do love a centre parcs holiday) but one day we was in the peak district and then the next day we travelled to the lake district then near Scotland.

Guest post| Emily- Where ever you go, go with your heart

Wednesday, 14 October 2020

I have known Jade since 2015, we are both lovers for sharing with the world and connecting with others.

Jade has been kind enough to let me use her platform to connect with you all, as she believes my blog space may be of interest to you, either way I am grateful and wanted to share an idea with you.

But first, let me introduce myself! My name is Emily, I am the founder of the Bloomin’ Positive, a blog dedicated to lifestyle, self-care and eco-living. The idea is to use these topics to create a sense of community and spread love and positivity, so if this interests you then please continue reading and check out my blog! The rest of this post will be continued on my page.

As Jade has this wonderful platform dedicated to travel, I wanted to post about the impact that the coronavirus has had on us all and how we can create our own mini self-care breaks. Whether that be in the comfort of your own home, or in a place in the UK that you have not been to before. I thought this would be a sweet idea for those of you who are still feeling anxious about travelling abroad during this uncertain time, and to make you aware that you can create memories and have fun wherever you may be! So, lets begin, by discussing your available options.

Holiday in the UK
So you may not feel comfortable boarding a plane yet, and that’s totally fine. We are all navigating life at different paces right now, and you need to do what is best for you. However, if you are searching for a break, there are plenty of places across the UK that are taking bookings.
These include:
Air BnBwww.airbnb.co.uk
Bluestone Resort, Wales: www.bluestonewales.com
Butlinswww.butlins.com
Havenwww.haven.com
Parkdean Resortswww.parkdeanresorts.co.uk
Center Parcs: www.centerparcs.co.uk (A favourite of mine & Jade’s!)

There may be other companies that I have missed so have a little look online if you’d like, do a little digging, but just bear in mind that things may not be as they have been before, there may be new rules and regulations to follow. Every company is trying their best to make sure you have the most wonderful times while also ensuring your safety.

Dip your toe in!
If you don’t want to go for a week away somewhere, but there is an English Heritage site or National Trust site that you want to explore, but it’s a little too far out for you… why not stay at a Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holiday Inn or Air BnB for a night. This way, you’re not committing to a long week awaybut you are getting back into the idea of travelling again during this crazy time.

If you don’t fancy a holiday abroad or in the UK, and you feel safer being at home, then feel free to head over to the Bloomin’ Positive blog for our Holiday at Home ideas.

Thanks for reading so far, I’ll see you over there!
